The NHL season is about to end and a lot of teams are already guaranteed a playoff spot, a few are still battling. What happens when you lose a top player close to the playoffs? Which current teams have their best or top player injured? Let’s take a look at the top5.
1- Patrick Kane – Chicago Blackhawks
Patrick Kane broke his clavicle and got a surgery on february. With playoffs coming very soon, the hawks really hope that Kanes get fully back faster than expected.
2- Max Pacioretty – Montreal Canadiens
We are still unsure of the gravity of Max Pacioretty’s injury. With what seems to be a concussion, with 2 games left to the regular season, Montreal can’t lose Max for the playoffs if they want to make it far this year.
3- Mark Giordano – Calgary Flames
Mark is out for the rest of the season as the Flames are still fighting to keep their playoff spot. On March 2nd, Giordano torned his biceps and ended his season.
4- Kris Letang – Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh have nothing going their way lately. Losses after losses, they are not very close to being out of the playoffs. With Letang suffering a concussion and won’t be coming back anytime soon, this team relys mostly in their offensive skills to hold it.
5- Tobias Enstrom – Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg Jets are sitting on that 8th western association spot and needs everything they have to hold it. Even with Byfuglien owning it up at the D, Enstrom is a big part of this team.
